Carol Boyer

Carol Boyer is no stranger to leadership and accomplishment. This Maryland firebrand's accomplishments have proven her far-reaching influence that she met impressionable deliverables in all the positions she has held. She is a results-oriented professional, with over 25 years of leadership/ management, communication and community engagement experience in marketing and event planning for businesses, fitness facilities, healthcare and national treatment providers including IDEA: The Association for Fitness Professionals, PowerBar, Gold's Gym, Shoprite, Nielsen TV Ratings, Gatorade, Delphi Behavioral Health Group, and more. 

A sought-after visionary and people connector, Carol has been recognized throughout her career with awards and citations including Senator Chris Van Hollen's Service citation for her work on International Overdose Awareness Day 2017, the Anne Arundel County, MD Police Department's Citizen Award for the 2017 International Overdose Awareness Day, the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence Outstanding Service Award, The Anne Arundel County, MD Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year Award and the Anne Arundel County Public School's Business Partner of the Year Award, just to name a few. 

In addition to her various acknowledgements and awards, Carol has demonstrated her exceptional leadership skills as she serves and/or has chaired committees including the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s (SAMHSA) National Recovery Month Planning Committee, Maryland Chapter of Addiction Policy (co-chair), Institute for the Advancement of Behavioral Healthcare Conference Programming Advisory Board for National Conference on Alcohol & Addiction Disorders, Anne Arundel County, MD Public School’s Human Performance Signature Program (chair), Howard County, MD Recovery Oriented Systems of Care (co-chair), Hope House Treatment Centers (Board member), My Life Foundation (Board member), The Parity at 10 Coalition (committee member); and Carol was honored to have been hand-picked for Anne Arundel County Executive Steuart Pittman’s Healthy Community Transition Team.

Carol's exceptional nature as a leader with vision is evident in some of the projects she organizes, such as the re-implementation of the Virtual Supermarket for the Cherry Hill Food Dessert, International Overdose Awareness Days 2016/ 2017 (largest in the nation), "The Other Talk"- a panel discussion and town hall with the DEA, a treatment executive, a pharmacist and a pain management physician; "A Day in Someone Else's Shoes" - an interactive festival, where attendees learned first-hand how mental illness and substance use challenges affect health, home, purpose and community, and the creation of the "I Still Remember" Memorial Photo Project in honor of those who lost their battle to the disease of addiction; Director and Sponsor of the 1st Annual Maryland Recovery Oriented Systems of Care Summit 2021, and more in the works for 2022-2023.
