Barry Grant

Interim Director of Treatment | Director of Outpatient Treatment, hope house treatment centers

Barry A. Grant is the director of outpatient services and programs at Hope House Treatment Centers. Over the past 25 years, he has shared his knowledge of addiction recovery and re-entry strategies with others based upon empirical knowledge.

Mr. Grant is an international facilitator of self-empowerment through natural recovery. His work has been recognized by former First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton and the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy. In Maryland, his work is recognized by U.S. Senators Benjamin Cardin and Chris Van Hollen, State Senator Cheryl Hagan, and Montgomery County, Maryland, for Outstanding Community Service. His speaking engagements include the World Congress and National Public Radio (NPR). He was a featured speaker on Capitol Hill on behalf of the Secular Coalition of America and this role has also taken him to Aberdeen, Glasgow and Inverness in Scotland; London, England; Ottawa, Canada; Paris, France, and numerous Washington, DC engagements.

Barry serves on the Anne Arundel Community College Human Services Advisory Board, the SMART Recovery Board of Directors, and is a current facilitator/trainer on this program and REBT in rehabilitation institutions, correctional facilities and universities. He also served as program manager with the New Jersey State Parole Board and the Parolee Aftercare Transitional Housing program. Mr. Grant has a master’s degree in human services, is a Maryland Board Approved Drug & Alcohol Supervisor, and holds various certifications in addiction and chemical dependency counseling.
